Lord Murugan Shrine

Lord Muruga is also known as Subramanya Swamy or Karthikeya. He is the second son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvathi, and brother of Ganesh. He is worshipped for prosperity and protection from evil.

He is the God of war fighting against evils holding a spear in his hand. Though the deity in the shrine has one face, in epic he is known for having six faces.

Skanda Sashti is a festival celebrated for Lord Muruga over six days when Lord fought and defeated the evil Demon Asura. The pieties and devotion observed during these days ensure success, prosperity, peace and happiness.
